How the garment waist is measured:
The pants are laid flat with the elastic waistband relaxed and unstretched. The waistband is measured straight across from one side to the other, and that measurement is then doubled to calculate the full relaxed garment-waist circumference shown in the chart. These are finished garment measurements—not body measurements.
Fit note:
US-size conversions are estimates. The woven pant fabric has no stretch, although the elastic waistband provides flexibility at the waist. Compare both the relaxed garment-waist and garment-hip measurements with a similar pair of pants you own while allowing room for your preferred ease. If you are between sizes or prefer a looser fit through the hips, select the larger size.
