It seem that once Halloween comes and goes, we close our eyes and it’s already Thanksgiving. Before you know it we will be celebrating Christmas and another New Year Eve’s making new goals and resolutions.
However it is important to enjoy these holidays for all that they offer and make the best of it with your friends and families. Here is a list of six things to make this Thanksgiving memorable.
Have a Friendsgiving:
Thanksgiving is about giving thanks to everyone in your life, including your friends, which is why it's a perfect opportunity to host or attend a Friendsgiving!
Friendsgiving is a time to get all your friends in one place and celebrate life together. It's a time to be grateful and to catch up with people who you have not been able to see because of busy schedules.
Have everyone bring an entree, side dish or famous dessert to contribute to the meal!
Get out the wine and cocktails and unwind about the experiences and lessons learned throughout the year.
You are never too old for a good ole fashioned Friendsgiving.
Watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade:
The Macy’s Thanksgiving parade started in 1924 and has grown into an event that people all around the world tune in to. You can watch the live broadcast on NBC, starting at 9 a.m, Thanksgiving morning.
This year’s parade is full of many exciting performers including: John Legend, Martina McBride, Anika Noni Rose the Muppets of Sesame Street, Leona Lewis, Pentatonix, Barenaked Ladies, Kane Brown, Brynn Cartelli, Ella Mai, Tegan Marie, Rita Ora, Carly Pearce, Sugarland, Ashley Tisdale, Mackenzie Ziegler, and Johnny Orlando to name a few.
As well as the casts of four Broadway musicals — Mean Girls, My Fair Lady, The Prom, and SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical.
Make sure to tune into NBC at 9am and get the whole family involved and make memories!
Start a New Tradition:
It’s never too late to start a new tradition with either friends or family so make it happen this year! It doesn’t need to be something extravagant or expensive but something that will bring people together in a new way.
Traditions can be as simple as having people walk in and write on a piece of paper what they are thankful for and putting their answer in a basket. Then during the meal reading off what people have wrote.
Traditions can start whenever, have fun with it. Start making memories for years to come!
Take a nap:
After the large meal and of course the clean-up, a Thanksgiving nap is the best way to go. Put on one of the three football games, kick your legs up, and take the well deserved snooze.
Black Friday is not always about the best deals but the memories you can make by venturing out into the chaos. Sometimes Black Fridays make for the best people watching and fun stories to tell.
Try picking something out of the catalog and go find the hydro spinning blender as a family! Make some laughs and experience the craziness of the department stores on Black Friday.
Set up the Christmas Tree:
While Thanksgiving wraps up, it’s officially the Holiday Season. Since Thanksgiving is a time when people come home and the family is all under one roof again, it's the perfect time to set up the Christmas tree as a family.
Put on the Christmas music and Deck the halls with the Christmas cheer!
